Editing AI-generated text: a four-step review

A text can look finished without answering the reader’s question. Review it in separate passes; otherwise, you may spend time polishing sentences that later disappear with an incorrect argument.

Verify the claims

Highlight names, dates, numbers, product names and promises of results. Find support for each claim in the source material. If you cannot confirm it, remove it, request a source or clearly identify it as an assumption. A link alone proves nothing: open the page and check the relevant passage.

Next, compare the conclusion with the assignment. The author might describe individual tools correctly yet draw an unsupported conclusion about what suits every company in the CIS. Narrow the wording to the conditions actually considered.

Check the line of reasoning

Read only the headings and the first sentence of each paragraph. Is there a sequence of actions? Does the text explain why one step comes before another? Rearrange sections before polishing the prose. Remove paragraphs that repeat a point in different words.

Add a concrete example wherever an instruction permits several interpretations. A useful example shows the inputs, action and result. It need not be a real client story: simply identify a practice scenario as hypothetical.

Edit the language and check links

Cut introductory filler, replace abstract nouns with actions and read complex sentences aloud. Finally, open every link, check image captions and make sure the headline promises no more than the article delivers. Keep a list of recurring mistakes for the next assignment.
